There couldn't be a global famine....could there?
In these modern times with globalization and last minute delivery systems we could be heading toward a global famine. The Chinese container ship that blocked up the Suez Canal for weeks demonstrated how fragile the Global Supply Chain is.
Add to this the "war" between Russia and Ukraine which means that much of the produce which would have gone to the worlds markets is missing this year, and because there has been very little planted this year, there will be even less next year.
Russia is the world's biggest exporter of fertilizer. Ukraine produces about 50% of the worlds sunflower oil and between the two countries they produce about 20% of the world's grain supply.
China, India and a handful of other nations have stopped export of a number of food products, predominantly grains.
This is bad enough in itself, but now the governments and the WEF are attacking the farmers. Were we not always told "never bite the hand that feeds?".....and yet Farmers are being shut down because they are "contributing to climate change".
Sri Lanka, which was, more or less, self sufficient in food has now undergone financial collapse because the government there decided to implement organic farming practices over night, banning chemical fertilizers. The result being failed crops, no food to feed the population. The country bankrupted itself over a very short time period. Organic farming practice, in itself, is a good thing and when done properly can feed the world with nutritious, chemical free food, BUT this has to be brought in over a number of years to transition the farming practices and to gradually rebuild the soil structure that has been denuded by chemical fertilizers over the years. To try to do it overnight, as ordered by the Sri Lankan government was suicide.
Sri Lanka is just one example of a country which is heading for starvation, unless it gets bailed out by the predatorial banking system.
Next in the crosshairs are the Dutch Farmers. The Dutch Farmers have been hitting the streets and protesting about changes to farming practices being enforced by the government which will destroy their livelihood and force many into insolvency. The farmers have even gone so far as to block motorways, block access to supermarkets and to spray manure over government buildings.
Again, this is being done....the forced changes in farming practices...in the name of Climate Change. The Dutch are the second largest exporters of agricultural products (food) in the world and yet if you look at a map of Europe, the Netherlands is such a small country. One would assume that in order to be the world's second biggest exporters of food, the Dutch Farmers probably know what they are doing and in general are "ahead of the game". Many have said that the governments proposed changes will put them out of business.
Welsh farmers are being bought out and the farms are being planted, not with food producing plants and animals, but with trees - so that corporations can "offset their carbon footprint" - and benefit the Climate Change Agenda.
In the USA, Bill Gates is now the biggest single owner of farmland, having bought out farms and ranches in 19 US states to a total of 242,000 acres. He has also bought in the region of 60 small farms in Canada. His hyper-globalist beliefs and being seemingly obsessed with population control and eugenics makes Gates a concerning figure. His plans for the farms are so far unknown, but speculation is some quarters suggest that he will remove this land from food production and may follow the strategy of what is happening in Wales and plant trees as both a tax dodge and to gain carbon credit points. He is after all trying to push lab grown meat and insect protein on us.
I've not even mentioned that many areas of world food production have experienced adverse weather events....floods and droughts...over the last few years, or that labour shortages caused by government Covid-19 lockdowns have put many businesses, including farmers and orchardists out of business.
I will however mention the 77 food processing plants, fertilizer factories and farms that have either been burned down or have exploded in the 12 months from April 2021 to April 2022. This is in the USA alone and this figure climbed to 100 as of July 2022.
All I can say is - IT'S NOT LOOKING GOOD!
Meanwhile, here in New Zealand, the weekly shopping bill continues to climb with each trip to the supermarket. Petrol prices have almost doubled in the last 2 years, housing prices went through the roof, the rental market has shrunk....there are not enough homes to meet demand. Our government are also listening to the WEF and the UN and pushing the goals of Agenda 21 - which has now become Agenda 2030 - which will give the government more control over us and restrict our freedoms further.
We have been told that New Zealand produces somewhere between 6 and 10 times the amount of food to feed every man, woman and child in the country - and that even if there is a world economic collapse, at least we won't starve.
BUT.....
To bring this up to date. On todays Newshub website is an article stating "Vegetable growers say they're struggling to survive as winter weather lashes the country and churns up fields. One family business in Auckland says over 70 percent of its crops have been damaged - setting it back almost half a million dollars".
70 percent of production lost....multiply this across New Zealand and our food stocks are not looking as rosy as was claimed.
Add to this the worrying situation that has seen control of our local water sources and drinking water pass from our local councils to the DHB's which has allowed Dr Bloomfield on his last day in office to mandate Fluoride be put in the drinking water everywhere in NZ. This is being done, he claims, as a health measure to prevent tooth decay in our youth population. For a start, I would question how many youth actually drink tap water. Secondly, Fluoride in drinking water barely makes contact with the teeth and is not held in the mouth and in contact with the teeth, but for a split second, before swallowing and being absorbed into organs and bones where excessive fluoride can lead to a bone disease known as skeletal fluorosis. Over many years, this can result in pain and damage to bones and joints. Fluoride is a neurotoxin which, in high doses, can be harmful.
In addition to this the government has made adjustments to what are considered toxic levels of 17 different chemical that have been found in our water supply. They haven't just doubled the amount of chemicals allowed though, they have increased them 50 times. One of the 17 chemicals is a known carcinogen and is banned throughout Europe....but not here in God's Own Country.
It used to be considered that Preppers were tin foil hat wearing crazies, but after reading my short list of adverse events that have occurred and are continuing to occur that are affecting the supply chain and causing food shortages...you'd have to be crazy not to be a Prepper.
So, what can we do?
Firstly organize as a community. Form mutual assistance groups. Surround yourself with people you can rely on. Talk to people about you concerns to see if they share those concerns. Set up a community garden, a food co-op, a local currency or time bank. Join a prepping group.
Grow a garden. Fruit, veg and herbs. Growing your own food is a very powerful thing. Not only are you providing much needed sustenance, but you can also control how that food is grown. Look after the soil. Don't use chemical sprays. Many herbs are both culinary and medical. To paraphrase Hippocrates, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food". And at the end of the growing season remember to collect and save seed for next year.
Put away food with a long shelf life as an emergency store and to supplement what you can grow. Dry foods such as oats, pasta, rice and other grains can be vacuum packed and last many years. Tinned meats, fish, fruit and veg will store for years past their best by date and still be good to eat.
The Church of the Latter-day Saints recommend that all their members store a year's supply of food and other necessary provisions. This may seem a lot, but start off trying to stock 3 weeks worth, then 3 months and keep adding to your supplies. Don't go crazy and put yourself in debt though. Debt should be something that you try to eliminate because if you owe the banks and things collapse and you have no job, no income, the banks will come for your home to settle the debt.
Collect rain water from your roof and buy a good quality filter.
Try to lessen your reliance on the electrical grid.
Think localization rather than globalization particularly when it comes to food.
Good luck, be of good faith.....Prepare for the worst, but hope for the best.
